CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

Cross-country skiing trail opened from December to March

It’s a trail that goes from Chiappera to Prazzo for about 50 km. There are other interesting trails in the lateral valley of Canosio and Marmora and another in Tetti (Dronero). Trails in general give to the skier a total immersion in the beautiful context of the Maira Valley. (In the Tourist Office of Dronero you will find all the information). There are 3 connected trails.
Road access: the main road from Dronero to Chiappera.

OFF-PISTE SKIING

Off-piste excursions with cross-country ski not so difficult:

 

ALPINE SKIING

There are more than 60 alpine skiing routes across a valley that offers incredible scenarios. It is a sound alternative to the overcrowded touristic ski stations. (In the Tourist Office of Dronero you will find all the information, tel. 0171 917080).

THE THRILL OF ICE

Maira valley with its incredible icefalls, it is a real “ice palace”.

In the Elva valley during very cold periods, there is the formation of very interesting icefalls.

For ice climbing lovers there is a very interesting book called "Ghiaccio dell'Ovest" by Giancarlo Grassi.

SNOWSHOES, ICE SKATING AND…NATURE.

Nowadays snowshoes still give an adventure and discovery feeling particularly in the wild Maira Valley.
Ice-skating is available in Acceglio, Canosio and in Dronero (. (In the Tourist Office of Dronero you will find all the information, tel. 0171 917080).
Timetables: It is advisable to call the Tourist Office because the timetable can vary according to the weather conditions.
